is an online fundraiser benefiting One Fire,
the Cherokee Nation's Domestic Violence unit.
Created by three Cherokee Tribal members, the Kaliwohi Project was born to make a difference, raise awareness, and encourage tribal representation. This project has evolved from its small and humble beginning.
Encouraged as a group project for the Salesforce Talent Alliance Career Cohort & WAVE Program, the Kaliwohi team discovered a need, specific to Native American Tribal Nonprofits, to truly optimize a tribal fundraising addition to the Salesforce CRM. Thus, the Kaliwohi Project has been designed to integrate with Salesforce CRM, with customized reporting and variable fields all focused on the needs of a Tribal Non-Profit.
At this time, we have a completed project summary for 2023. We are committed to the continuation of the Kaliwohi Project and are beginning the steps to form a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit. We will be running our annual Domestic Violence Awareness fundraiser benefiting One Fire this coming October.
We are blessed to welcome the beautiful and talented Rachel Shumway to the Kaliwohi Project. Rachel brings with her a heart for diversity and equality within the Salesforce ecosystem. She is a true wealth of Salesforce knowledge and has an incredible spirit to impact true change as we raise awareness against domestic violence and support the survivors.
This software is based off public posts and maps running checks for if a zip code is located on Tribal Reservation Land. We have been reviewing and planning this addition since 2022. We are pleased to announce that we have a functioning minimal viable product. Please watch our short demo video below!
Tribal Zip Application
This video runs through a short example with our education specialist, Rachel Shumway.
Tribal Zip Codes are broken into 3 types: Tribal, Non-Tribal, and Split
We still have much to add to this specific application and are looking forward to our next phase!
“The Kaliwohi Project has been an unforgettable experience. By embracing technological innovation, we can all play our part in raising awareness and supporting DV survivors, especially on a virtual platform. The spirit of collaboration is great within this team and our goal is to continue contributing within Tribal Communities ”

“What a blessing it has been to be a part of this effort in supporting an organization, that directly helps women and children get out of domestically violent situations, while also getting first hand experience working in the Salesforce ecosystem.”

“Working on The Kaliwohi Project has taught me to value my work, to appreciate the people who support me, and has made me more aware of the issue of domestic violence among Native Americans.”

"The fact that there is a technology that has the ability to create pockets of safety for women in this world, at scale, is a cherished gift. The fact that I get to assist with discovering, architecting and building solutions on Salesforce... and then help people learn about them?
Kaliwohi Project- you are nothing short of miraculous."
